4(x + 2) - 1/2x = 22
4x + 8 - 1/2x = 22
3.5x + 8 = 22
         -8     -8
3.5x = 14
/ 3.5    /3.5
x = 4

4(x+2)-1/2x=22 we need to get it into the form of a+bx
4x+8-1/2x=22
3.5x=14
f(x)=-14+3.5x
