the answer would be three 19 minus 7 equals 12 divided by 4 equals 3

so the sum of 4 times a number (4 times x or 4x) and 7 (+7) is (=) 19 (19)

4x+7=19
subtract 7 from both sdies
4x=12
divide by 4
x=3

the number is 3
