Solve the system of equations by any method. -2x + 8y = 14 x – 4y= -7

-2x+8y = 14 (a)

x-4y = -7 (b)

Multiply (b) by 2 and add both equations:

-2x + 8y = 14

2x -8y = -14

___________

0 = 0

Since both variables were eliminated there is an infinite number of solutions.
