I need help with a substitution algebra problem . Solve the system y + 2 = 4x and y = 2 .

We have the next system of equations

y+2=4x

y=2

we substitute the value of y in the first equation

2+2=4x

we simplify

4=4x

then we divide between 4 on both sides

4/4=4x/4

1=x

ANSWER

x=1

y=2
