Cot is the same as the Cos divided by Sin.  Using a unit circle, we know that 45°= (√2)/2

The Cos of (√2)/2 is equal to the Sin of (√2)/2.

When a number is divided by an equal number, the dividend is equal to one.

Thus, the Cot 45° is equal to one.
