The problem is just flipped.

You need to get the x by it's self. I will demonstrate below. Remember that when you move a number to the other side of the equal sign, it changes from positive to negative or negative to positive.
5.5x+32=57
5.5x=57-32
5.5x=25
x=25/5.5
x=4.54
