It's very difficult to understand the question.  In fact, I have
not achieved that lofty level yet.

-- If  d = 12,  then  ( 4d - 24 - 12 )  is not equal to zero.

-- If  ( 4d - 24 - 12 )  IS equal to zero, then  d = 9, not 12 .
