AB + BC = AC

(8x - 4) + (9x + 17) = 10x + 34

...simplify

17x + 13 = 10x + 34

...subtract 13

17x = 10x + 21

...subtract 10x

7x = 21

...divide 7

x = 3

AC = 10(3) + 34 = 30 + 34

AC = 64
